Village President

April Brandon

Outside of public service, April is a counselor who has spent years helping veterans, Gold Star families, and members of our community navigate some of life’s hardest moments.Since 2018, she has run a counseling practice specializing in veterans’ issues, anxiety, and trauma recovery. That work has shaped the way she leads by listening first, making room for honest conversations, and working toward solutions that help people and communities move forward. But April isn’t just the Village President, she’s a neighbor. She’s a Gold Star mom raising her family right here in Holly. She eats breakfast at the local coney, the road in front of her house is crumbling too, and you’ll find her pitching in alongside everyone else at community events and park cleanups.

Her service reaches well beyond Village Hall. April volunteers with LACASA, supports veterans and military families, and works with the League of Enchantment to bring a little happiness to children facing illness and difficult circumstances. For April, Holly isn’t simply a place she represents. It’s the community she calls home, it is where she is raising her family, and the place she shows up for every day.

Village Council

Shannon Cole

Outside of public service, Shannon is an educator with Clarkston Community Schools. She began her career working in small group literacy intervention, spent a decade as an elementary librarian, and eventually moved into the business side of education. That experience has given her an appreciation for both the people behind an organization and the numbers that keep it running.Shannon serves on Holly’s finance committee, but what matters most to her is keeping Holly the kind of place her family has called home for years. She cares deeply about keeping our Police and Fire local, our library open and accessible, and making sure our parks and youth associations have the support they need to continue bringing families and neighbors together.

She loves Friday nights cheering on the Bronchos, familiar faces around town, and the kind of community where neighbors still stop to talk and show up for one another. For Shannon, Holly is home. It’s the people, the traditions, and that small town, front porch feeling that makes Holly, Holly.

Village Council

Amber Kier

Outside of public service, Amber is the finance director for a local family-owned business specializing in commercial scales. During her time in that role, the company went from $1.5 million to $5 million in sales. This experience she brings with her to Holly’s budgets and her work with the Finance Committee. But Amber’s commitment to Holly goes well beyond spreadsheets. She has championed conservation efforts throughout the Village, from the Monarch Butterfly Pledge to a new conservation easement and invasive species removal at Ganshaw Park. She’s a mom who loves walking her daughter to school, supporting the farmers market, and being part of the everyday life of our community.

Amber is also a Purple Heart veteran. Whether serving her country, her family, or her hometown, service has always been part of who she is. For Amber, service isn’t just something she does, it’s in her DNA.
